About Me

Hi! I’m Dawn

I’m a quirky, fun-loving weirdo with a healthy dose of sass, and I absolutely adore all people.

One of my favourite quotes is “Love your weird”  Yup, I’m weird, you’re weird, we’re all weird— you need to accept it, own it, and use it to create your best work and be your best you.

Connecting with people has always been a huge part of my identity. I thrive on building relationships and feel most fulfilled when I’m lending a helping hand. People are just naturally drawn to me—it’s like my superpower. Maybe it’s my quick wit, quirky humor, or the warmth and acceptance I offer in every conversation.

With three amazing daughters and two adorable grandchildren who steal my heart every day, my life is a whirlwind of love and laughter. Despite facing two divorces and an upbringing straight out of “Shameless,” I’ve emerged stronger, fiercer, and armed with stories to tell.  Life’s curveballs have only fuelled my determination, fostering a resilience that knows no bounds.

Laughter and silliness are my trademarks, but beneath the humor lies a woman unafraid to speak her mind and stand her ground. I’m like whiskey in a teacup – bold, unapologetic, and full of surprises.  Laughter, gratitude, and forgiveness are my tried and true weapons, empowering me to embrace my real self with pride.

What’s lighting up my world right now? Writing. I’m diving headfirst into the world of words, soaking up every bit of knowledge in my writing course, and chasing my dream of penning a book. Stay tuned, folks – there’s a lot more where this came from!

So, how did I become a coach?

One morning, I looked in the mirror and couldn’t recognize the person staring back at me. I felt lost, like I’d somehow forgotten who I was. It hit me hard—I needed to rediscover who the fuck I was. So that’s exactly what I did.

I excitedly enrolled in, and a few years later graduated from, Canada Coaching Academy. I’m exactly where I’m meant to be. And it feels amazing.

I’m all about promoting healthy sexual relationships and keeping an open mind, so I dove headfirst into Sex and Intimacy training. From books and seminars to field trips to sex clubs, I further expanded my understanding of the exciting world of sexuality and its endless possibilities.

When speaking and coaching with couples, sex and intimacy is an important yet often under-discussed topic. “Shame, embarrassment, fear of judgment, I just don’t like it” are some of the common feelings surrounding this sensitive subject. Facilitating intimacy workshops and training has been a rewarding part of my coaching journey. Seeing individuals break out of their shells and embrace their sexuality is truly beautiful.

I’m a Work in Progress

Call me a Student of Life, if you will. Through life’s wild adventures, I’ve gathered more wisdom than any classroom or lecture hall could ever offer. With every twist and turn, I’m constantly reflecting on the journey and soaking up valuable insights along the way.

As clichéd as it may sound, life truly is the best teacher. It challenges us to adapt, think on our feet, and face obstacles head-on. It’s all about the mindset we choose. By staying curious, seeking growth opportunities, and daring to try new things, the spirit of lifelong learning thrives within us.

Life has this funny way of dropping me smack into management and leadership roles, no matter where I start out.  These roles have really boosted my confidence and shown me that I’m pretty damn good at what I do.

But truthfully, it always comes back to my hard earned life lessons.  They’ve molded my natural leadership skills and fueled my compassion for everyone around me.  Turns out that everyone does have a story we know nothing about.  Be kind. Listen to understand. Offer a smile to those who need it most.   It’s that simple.
